Plain weave (also called tabby weave, linen weave or taffeta weave) is the most basic of three fundamental types of textile weaves (along with satin weave and twill). It is strong and hard-wearing, used for fashion and furnishing fabrics.

Jacquards

Made from wild or uncultivated silkworms, it is coarse, strong, uneven, dull luster, and rather stiff. Has a rough texture with many slubs, knots, and bumps. It is ecru or tan in colour and it is difficult to bleach. It usually doesn't take an even dye color. Wears well and the looks become rougher. It wrinkles a little, but not as much as some. It has various weights, and appears in filament and staple form.
